Psychological Assessments
Comprehensive, person-centred assessments for children, adolescents, and adults
At Alana Eggins Psychology, assessments are designed to be clear, compassionate, and neuroaffirming. Whether you're seeking clarity about attention, learning, autism, or cognitive strengths, the goal is to help you understand yourself (or your child) in a way that feels validating and useful.
Assessments are tailored to each individual and may include structured interviews, standardised testing, observations, and input from family members, teachers, or other supports.
Assessments are all about uncovering strengths, understanding challenges, and finding practical solutions.
With a supportive approach, I’ll guide you through the process to help create a clear and empowering plan moving forward.

Assessment Process
Every assessment begins with a triage appointment to understand your concerns, determine suitability, and outline the best steps forward. This ensures a tailored approach that meets your unique needs.
-
The triage appointment is the first step in the assessment process. During this session, we discuss your concerns, explore your goals, answer any questions about the process, and determine if an assessment is suitable to proceed. This ensures a clear and tailored plan moving forward.
-
The developmental history appointment focuses on gathering detailed background information about key areas such as developmental milestones, behaviour, learning, and social experiences. This session provides essential context to guide the assessment process and ensures a thorough understanding of individual strengths and challenges
-
During the psychometric assessment sessions, standardised tests and activities are used to evaluate cognitive, behavioural, social, emotional, or learning abilities, depending on the focus of the assessment. These 1–3 sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs and are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of their strengths and areas requiring support.
-
Between assessment sessions, psychometric questionnaires are completed by parents, teachers, or the individual being assessed. These tools provide valuable insights into behaviours, emotions, and functioning across different settings, adding depth and context to the overall assessment.
-
The feedback session is the final step of the assessment process. During this session, I share the results, provide a clear explanation of findings, and discuss tailored recommendations. This is also an opportunity to ask questions and plan the next steps to support ongoing growth and development.Item description

Report Writing
Following the assessment process, a comprehensive report is prepared. This document includes a detailed summary of the findings, any diagnoses (if applicable), and tailored recommendations for interventions, supports, or next steps. The report serves as a valuable resource for understanding and planning for future needs.
Please be aware that due to the limitations of Telehealth, not all assessments are available online.
Some tools require in-person administration, direct behavioural observation, or materials that cannot be reliably delivered via video.
If you are considering a Telehealth assessment, please contact me to discuss whether your circumstances, assessment goals, and environment are suitable for a valid and ethical Telehealth process.
I will always let you know openly and early if Telehealth is not appropriate, and will work with you to find a suitable pathway.
